Today was the Royal Wedding, Prince William and Kate Middleton are now husband and wife. I actually woke up at 1 a.m. this morning just to watch it, the whole thing was just beautiful. The ceremony was nicely done and I think it went perfectly. Kate's dress was very beautiful as well and everybody seems to have liked it, she was successful in keeping her wedding dress a secret. I really wish both Will and Kate happiness.

Class Discussion- Immigration
Today in class we had our class discussion on immigration, it was interesting to see where people stood. I really am not choosing sides, because I don't fully agree with everything one side has to say about the topic. I just wish we could find some type of solution, I liked the fact that Xavier pointed out that there were programs were immigrants can join in order to come to the United States legally and work. That to me seems like a great solution, why come illegally when you can come without haveing the fear of being deported. I also think that we need to focus on the immigrants that are causing trouble and help those that are really here to work, learn and support those they love. I can see both sides and understand why the government is frusterated and I understand that immigrants are being treated unfair. I wish I would have spoken up more because I had some questions and things to point out, and I do feel bad for using the word "colored people" it just came up for lack of a better word and I always get nervous I completely take that back because I didn't agree with the person who used it. Overall nice points were made, too bad we don't have another day to discuss because this topic is a big one.

Mystery Royal Dress
"Kate's Royal Wedding Dress Still Veiled in Mystert" By Sylvia Hui
27 April 2011
http://royalwedding.yahoo.com/blogs/kates-royal-wedding-dress-still-veiled-in-mystery-7052
Kate Middleton's wedding dress is still a mystery, nobody knows who the designer is or how it will look. So everyone is just making guesses, I can't wait to see her dress, I bet it will be beautiful.

Chained in a Closet
" The Oprah Winfrey Show Today: The 6-Year-Old That was Chained in a Closet" By

At age six, when most little kids are living life happily, and worry free, a little boy named Clayton Grad was put in a small bathroom closet and wrapped around with a chained fence. But now at age nineteen we finally got to here his story, when I saw him on Oprah and heard his story I was so upset to hear that the people who abused him were the people who were supposed to protect him. Clayton's own father and stepmother put him in the closet and did such cruel things I really don't want to go into them because they really upset me. I mean to think that this little boy had to suffer because the father was spineless and seemed to care more about the new wife over his own flesh and blood. I am just glad to know that Clayton is now living a happy life.

He Shouldn't Have Complained
"Royal Guard Cut from Wedding after Kate Complaints"By Kwala Mandel
25 April 2011
http://royalwedding.yahoo.com/blogs/guard-cut-from-wedding-after-kate-complaints-6189?nc
There will be a guard missing at the royal wedding becuase the eighteen year old complained about Kate Middleton being to "stuck up" and a few other things. I thought it was pretty dumb of the kid to complain about that, the only reason he complained was because Kate didn't look at him, he messed up his chance to be in the Royal Wedding which is such an honor. He wanted attention now he has it, just not in the way he wanted. And in my opinion Kate Middleton doesn't look stuck up at all, she seems really nice and quite and I wish her and William the best.

Invisible Children
"Invisible Children" By
http://www.invisiblechildren.com/homepage.html
Yesterday on Oprah, there were these three young men. [These three young men had been on Oprah when they were only college students who were trying to find some type of adventure] They went to Africa and soon after they made it their mission to help the country, because as many people don't know, Africa has been going through an invisible war. A man named Joseph Kony has been terrozing four countries, and children are being abducted and are forced to fight. These three young men are trying to fix and help Northern Uganda by rebuilding schools, educating future leaders and providing jobs. I admire these men because they are really passionate and really care for these kids, if we just donate $25.00 it would really help alot.

Innocent Man is Killed
"Drive -Thru Victim Shot "For No Apparant Reason"" By Darrekk Santschi
20 April 2011
http://www.pe.com/localnews/inland/stories/PE_News_Local_ndrivethru21.2a1e3d5e9.html
Dalray Kawane Andrews is behind bars for robbing and murdering a man named Joshua Huizar of Rialto. Dalray shot Joshua after Joshua tryed to escape. My heart goes out to the family, and I hope Dalray pays for what he has done. I also come back to the idea that guns need to be destroyed because so many innocent people become victims to it. If we destroy guns I believe that it would save so many lifes.

Child of Rage
"Child of Rage"By Ken Tucker
1992
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20050792,00.html
In sociology the class is watching a movie called "Child of Rage", it's about a little seven year old girl named Catherine who is very violent [a young sociopath]. The child was raped at a very young so we believe that is the reason for her her actions, but the thing is she does many cruel things. The reason the movie is creepy is because it's a true story. There really was a violent little girl who almost killed her younger brother, hurt animals and more. I really recommend watching this movie because it is very interesting to see.

They made a report card for President Obama, I thought it was pretty interesting to see. I expected to see more C's or D's only because everywhere I look people are complaining about almost everything he says. They grade about everything, from his campain team to his foreign issues.

Two Longtime Dramas Say Goodbye
"ABC Cancels 2 Longtime Soaps from Daytime Lineup" By David Bauder
14 April 2011
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_tv_daytime_dramas
As a big fan of General Hospital=D [a daytime drama] when I read the title of the article I was worried it could be mine. But General Hospital will continue to air as usual, instead "One Life to Live" and "All my Children" will be canceled. Even though I don't watch or care for these shows it must really suck for those that do enjoy the soap operah. "All my Children" will go off the air sometime in September and "One Life To Live" will be in January. They will be replacing their air times with some type of food/healthy related shows.

DON'T Drink and Drive
"Drunk Driving Statistics"
http://www.duiattorneyhome.com/DUI/Drunk-Driving-Statistics
Today we saw what a drinking and driving car crash would look like. And to be honost I'm so glad they showed our school, because many people are unaware of what they are doing. My best friend was one of the ones who "died", I had tryed texting her but I found out she had her communication to friends and family taken away.It actually got me and my friends thinking "what if it really was one of us?", it was really hard to take in the fact that someone is dying every 15 minutes due to drinking and driving. During the reanactment I heard some people say they would think before they drank, and I was so glad that some people got the point.I hope people realize that drinking isn't as great as they think it is, and think twice before they drink or get in a car drunk/ or with a drunk driver. Because if you do you could mess up your life or someone else's life, and those that love them as well.

Double Life
"Calif. Mother of 3 Recounts Life as a 'Outlaw'"
7 April 2011
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42463310/ns/us_news/
Last week on Oprah a woman named Marie Walsh tells her story of when instead she was known as Susan LeFevre. Marie says that she was sent to jail for dealing heroin, but her grandfather had helped her escape, because he didn't believe she belonged in jail. And since then has become a model citizen, got married and had a family; never once forgetting the fact that she could get caught any day. For 32 years she was free, and this story is so amazing to me becuase I never really thought that some people who were in jail could possibly be innocent [in the interview she mentioned someting on this subject] .We never think about the people who really just happened to have drugs on them, and still they are the ones punished. It's really important then to pick your friends wisely, that way you are never in a situation like the one Marie Walsh was in.

Don't Try This at Home
"Weird News" By Lili Ladaga

A man named Darren Taylor broke the "certified shallow diving record". Looking at it, it looked pretty dangerous, he dived in face down, I'm just glad nothing bad happened. I don't really know what made him want to try that in the first place?

Sicko
"Sicko-A Michael Moore Documentary"
http://www.documentary24.com/sicko-a-michael-moore-documentary--197/
http://www.ericdsnider.com/movies/sicko
Today in class my teacher told us that the class was going to watch a documentary /movie called "Sicko". I watched this movie last year and it was hard to hear the stories, there were people who were kicked out of the hospital because they couldn't pay, and there were people who died from a simple sickness just beacause they were denied, and to me that's just really wrong. The documentary is about health coverage [or the lack of it]. A person doesn't deserve to die because they can't pay the bills, a life is way more important than money.

Japan has begun to dump radioactive water into the ocean. Experts claim that the radiation will be diluted by the Pacific Ocean so there won't be any threat to humans. But they don't know whether it will be a threat to the marine life. Dumping radioactive water into the ocean was also said to be the last option.
